What is Nime sulide for:
- This medication is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
How does Nimesulide work:
- This drug is prescribed for painful inflammatory conditions, back pain, dysmenorrhea, postoperative pain, osteoarthritis, and fever.
How should Nimesulide be used:
- Take Nimesulide exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than instructed by your doctor.
Common side effects of Nimesulide :
- Nimesulide may cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert. Nimesulide is likely to cause stomach discomfort such as nausea, diarrhoea and stomach pain. Be sure to take it with food. This will help minimise the stomach discomfort.
What do I do if I miss a dose
- Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.
What precautions should I take when taking Nimesulide :
- Do not take Nimesulide if you: - are pregnant or breastfeeding. - have a history of allergic reactions (swollen eyes or mouth, difficulty breathing, rashes) to similar medicines such as diclofenac, mefenamic acid, ibuprofen, indomethacin, ketoprofen, naproxen or piroxicam. - asthma - stomach ulcers or bleeding from the stomach. - problems with blood clotting.
When do I need to seek medical help
- If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of infection.
Can I take Nimesulide with other medicines:
- Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.

How does Paracetamol work:
- Paracetamol blocks chemicals that cause pain. It lowers fever by changing the bodys thermostat in the brain.
How should Paracetamol be used:
- Take this as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than instructed by your doctor. Never take more than 1000 mg at any one time and no more than 4 times in one day. The dose for a child is different from the adult dose. Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving this medicine to a child. It may be taken with or without food. If you need pain relief fast, take it on an empty stomach as food may slow down the absorption. You may stop taking it when you have no more pain or fever. Take it only when you need to.
